The basis of this measure is the cost reduction achieved by partially softening city water make-up to the condenser water system (“CWS”) and increase cycles of concentration
High-efficiency fine filtration, for cleaner heat transfer surfaces providing electrical savings (as outlined by FEMP).
Use an existing well, or a new well, as the makeup source to the condenser water system.
Utilizes groundwater, typically discharged from the building, as a source of cooling makeup.
Demineralizes high-salinity city water to allow for reduced cooling water use.
Cost reduction achieved by demineralization and reuse of 40-60% of the condenser water blowdown.
